Job Title: Fire Alarm Cost/Designer

Location: Glasgow

Job Description: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Cost/Designer to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire alarm system design and cost estimation, ensuring our projects are both safe and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design comprehensive fire alarm systems for buildings in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for fire alarm system installations and upgrades.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and submittals using CAD software and other design tools.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing conditions and ensure proper system integration.
• Review and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans to ensure coordinated designs.
• Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases of projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering.
• Proven experience in fire alarm system design and cost estimation.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and other relevant design tools.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, UL standards, and local fire codes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
• Experience with project management and client interactions.
• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling).
