Transport & Compliance Officer

The role holder will report to the logistics manager and be focused on promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture, compliance against regulatory and legislative matters, and the provision and maintenance of the Transport and quality management systems.

Responsibilities:

· Maintaining vehicle and driver records

· Ensure adherence to drivers’ hours and working time rules – tachograph.

· Monitor and ensure the training and competency of drivers as per Driver CPC.

· Ensure vehicles are regularly inspected, maintained, and repaired.

· Ensuring best practice transport, Health & Safety Policies and legislative requirements are always adhered to.

· To communicate and liaise with other departments to ensure a smooth & effective operation.

· General administration duties in line with transport legislation, company policies and procedures.

· Answering calls and dealing with customer enquiries.

· Providing cover for the transport coordinator involving routing the vehicles to optimise fleet efficiency, managing drivers and liaising with customers.

· Maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001 and BSI systems

· Control COSHH and Loler registers.

· Compile reports, review and document after serious accidents and incidents

· Toolbox talk review (working with management team)

· Manage document control and legal register.

· Manage supplier audit program, conduct supplier audits, and report findings.

Requirements:

· Transport qualification such as RHA transport administrator course/transport manager CPC or relevant experience working in a transport office.

· Health and safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Health and Safety Management desirable.

· Compliance qualification such as ISO 9001 Internal Auditor desirable.
