Our client, an international manufacturing business are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team. If you are enthusiastic about maintenance and have proven experience in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be a key member of our team responsible for the continuous upkeep and improvement of our site facilities and assets. Your role will involve both planned and reactive maintenance, as well as project work to enhance our operations.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid right to work in the UK.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Service and repair manual and CNC machinery, carrying out diagnostics and implementing suitable repairs.
  • Maintain site infrastructure, plant, and equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Assist in developing maintenance procedures and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Interpret drawings and O&M manuals and assist in identifying and sourcing components.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to peers and apprentices as needed.
  • Be available for additional training as required.
  • Maintain responsibility for the quality of your work, including self-inspection and completion of paperwork and applicable checklists.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and project activities when necessary.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Experience in maintaining manufacturing machinery and facilities.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with CNC machine control systems (Siemens and Mazak preferred).
  • Experience in lifting and slinging.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-functional team, preferably in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding and experience of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • IPAF or equivalent certification.
  • Forklift truck counterbalance license.
  • Basic electrical experience or working knowledge.
  • Experience using a CMMS system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Shift Pattern

  • Week 1- Monday - Thursday 06:30- 18:30
  • Week 2- Monday - Thursday 18:30- 06:30

For this role, the salary will be paid at basic rate (£35 350) for day shifts and increase to the above salary/ shift pattern following a sufficient training period.
